Step 1: Sign up for Chase account ($200)

The first step is to open a Chase account if you do not already have one. After setting up an account and adding some sort of deposit to it (Poshmark and eBay work), Chase will add $200 into your account within a couple weeks. This first bonus only applies to new Chase customers.

Step 2: Apply for Chase Freedom Unlimited and Spend $500 in First 3 Months ($200)

The second step is to apply for the Chase Freedom Unlimited. I only recommend applying for this card if your credit score is 670 or higher (or if you’ve been banking with Chase for multiple years then at least 600). If you are a reseller like me, spending $500 within 3 months is extremely easy to do, and even if you don’t run a business, personal expenses (groceries, gas, etc.) should total over $500 in 3 months. I recommend the Chase Unlimited first for resellers, because the 1.5% cashback everywhere applies to thrift stores and other places you may source inventory. After you spend $500, Chase will give you 20,000 points which can be redeemed as $200 cash back.
The key to using credit cards is to only spend money you would be spending anyway. If you are spending extra then you are basically cancelling out the benefit you’d get from sign up bonuses. I also recommend paying your credit card weekly to keep up with it (I personally do it daily. I use my credit card for the points and then immediately pay it off).

Step 3: Apply for Chase Freedom Flex and Spend $500 in First 3 Months ($200)

The third step is basically identical to the second step. The only difference is you will be getting 1% cashback instead of 1.5% cashback at places like thrift stores. Steps 2 and 3 are almost interchangeable. By the end of step 3 you should have $600 if you are a new Chase member, or $400 (plus all the cashback points you’ve racked up) if you were an existing member.

Step 4: Apply for Chase Sapphire Preferred and spend $4,000 in the First 3 Months ($600)

The last step is admittedly a bit more difficult than the previous 3 but has a reward equal to the first 3 combined. For one, you will need to have a credit score of over 740. Second, the card has a $95 annual fee (this is offset by $50 a year in free hotel credit as well as $100 in GoPuff credit a year). Finally, $4,000 in 3 months is 8x higher than the requirement for the Freedom Flex and the Freedom Unlimited. However, if you qualify and hit the spending requirement, Chase will add 60,000 points to your account which can be redeemed for $600 cashback.
After completing all 4 steps you will have gotten a free $1,200 just from sign up bonuses. If you include Points earned from money spent to hit the bonuses (At an average of 1.25% cashback), you’ll also have earned 6,200 points or $62.
